Every fall members of Goshen Baptist Church may nominate individuals to serve in various church leadership roles during the following year(s).  Here is a timeline for the process this year, along with a few guidelines:

  • Nomination forms will be available as of Sunday, Sept. 27.
  • Completed forms must be returned by Sunday, Oct. 11.
  • Nomination forms can be picked up at the Welcome Table or downloaded (click HERE); forms should be returned to the collection box at the Welcome Table or emailed to the church office (click HERE).
  • Those who are nominated must be church members.
  • Those nominated for Elder must be men.
  • The Nomination Review Committee will review and respond to nominations, and prepare a ballot for publication on Sundays Nov. 8, 15, & 22 regarding action items in preparation for the Business Meeting on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 5:30 p.m.

Please keep in mind the following points about our nomination process as you prayerfully consider nominating someone to serve as an Elder, Deacon/Deaconess, or Officer:

  • If you’re nominating someone, please do not ask or inform that person, but simply submit the nomination after careful and prayerful reflection on the individual’s qualifications.  It is the Nomination Review Committee’s responsibility to review and evaluate nominations, and then, if appropriate, communicate with people who have been nominated.
  • The Nominating Form (available at the Welcome Table) includes several guidelines as to the qualifications for service as in these roles.  So please read the form carefully before making a nomination.
