MEN & LIFE

Men face enormous pressures.  Providing financially for the family, raising children in a rugged cultural environment, attending to the emotional needs of family members. The Men's Ministry at Goshen desires to stand shoulder to shoulder with men as they seek to fulfill their God-given calling in this world.  We aim first to introduce men to the Perfect Man in Jesus Christ, then to help each other grow in our understanding of who He is and how He wants each of us to impact our world for his glory. Join us as we support each other on the journey!

Bible Studies

Men will be diving into John Stott's study of the book of Acts this winter and spring. The Spirit moved in dramatic ways in the early church. The gospel was preached, thousands were added to their number, many were healed, and the good news about Jesus was spread across continents. Covering the exciting action of the Spirit in the years just following Jesus' life on earth, this study will open your eyes to the Spirit's power in the past and present and help you apply the riches of Scripture to your own life.  Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. in the Library.  Question?  Contact Ed Duguid (ed@iduguid.com) or Chip Scott (chipscott@verizon.net).

Discipleship Groups

"Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me," Paul says to Timothy, "in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus."  (II Tm. 1:13)  At Goshen we're aiming to engage as many men as possible in a meaningful discipleship relationship with a brother older in faith, emulating the ancient pattern established by Paul and Timothy.  If you're interested in participating in a Discipleship Group, contact Pastor Peter at peter@goshenbaptist.org.

Sports

Winter basketball and spring/summer softball teams are available for some good brotherly competition.  For basketball contact Mark Herson at mlherson@verizon.net and for softball contact Paul Yeung at yeungp@msn.com.

Men’s Fellowship

We seek to come along side each other in brotherly support through church wide seasonal gatherings.  No matter if it's a breakfast or an evening BBQ, there's always great food, conversation and a challenge from a brother in Christ.
