Neighborhood Prayer Walk, Saturday, October 10, Anytime between 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.

-----------

Friends,

On behalf of the Outreach Team, we're encouraging everyone at Goshen to pray for their neighbors during these tumultuous times.  Below is the Prayer Guide for our Neighborhood Prayer Walk this Saturday.

Please find a time that works for you to walk your neighborhood and pray (you could do this on your own, as a couple, as a family, or however you see fit).  We're suggesting between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m.

You might want to carry a candle as you walk and pray--as a symbol of the light of Christ.  Be on the lookout for opportunities to say hello to your neighbors, and to ask how you can pray for them:

  • Pray for spiritual life:  Ask the Lord to help your neighbors understand their need for Christ, for his forgiveness of sin and his gift of life.  Pray that, through this, they would find peace with God and hope for life.
  • Pray for emotional needs: Pray for those who are feeling particularly lonely.  For those who are feeling defeated and worn down.  Pray for those who are struggling with anger towards any group or subculture.
  • Pray for relational needs: Pray for marriages as the quarantine has taken a toll on many couples.  Pray for parent/child relationships with the stress of schooling online.  Pray for sibling relationships.
  • Pray for physical needs: Pray for those who face physical challenges.  Pray for protection from COVID19.  Pray for those facing financial stress or unemployment.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39).

“You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).
