Friends, as we step into 2023, let's encourage each other to draw near to the Lord day by day.

God speaks through his inspired Scriptures, and we respond in prayers of thanks, confession, lament, praise, and trust:  God's Word & Prayer.  It's the most vital, life-sustaining conversation that exists.  You need this--all believers need to be in daily communication with the Lord.  Every meaningful relationship requires consistent communication--including your relationship with the Lord God.

If you don't have a plan in place yet, consider these two complementary approaches:

  • 2-Year Bible Reading Plan.  This pace of Scripture reading is fast enough to get you cover to cover in "good time," but also slow enough that there is opportunity to reflect on what you're reading.  It works out to about 12 chapters per week.  You can do it--and the Lord will help you.  "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4):  the Bible is our soul food.  Enjoy the feast!
  • 31 Days of Prayer.  For every day of January there is a Bible promise listed.  Read that promise over a few times, and then pray for yourself, for a loved one, and for a non-believer you know--that each person would be drawn to and blessed by the Lord in light of his promises.  Families, you could do this around the dinner table.  Moms and Dads, use it as a way to teach your kids to pray in response to God's Word.

Day One for both plans is tomorrow, January 1, 2023.  Printed copies of both flyers are on the ledge in the church lobby, or you can download them by clicking the links above.

May the Lord bless you richly as we follow Jesus together into this New Year!
