CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES

Please take note of our plans for Christmas Eve--and come gather with us in person or join us from home via livestream:

  • Services on Dec. 24 at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center (if it's a toss up for you between 3:00 and 5:00, we'd like to nudge you to attend at 3:00--thanks)
  • Family-friendly 45-minute services
  • No childcare--stay together as a family
  • Masks & distancing
  • Services will be livestreamed
  • If you're joining from home, gather 5 candles beforehand so you can share in the lighting of Advent candles
  • Parents at home, please print our coloring book and have the kids color along during the service if they’d like. Save the last page for when Pastor Peter shares.

ADVENT 2020

Designating the four Sundays before Christmas as "Advent" (the word means "appearing"--the coming of the Son of God into the world) is a great church tradition.  Just like Holy Week in the days leading up to Easter, Advent creates an extended season for reflection on the momentous acts of God to save us.

And we need a season--just a day, just a moment... that won't do.  Think how radical and wonderful it is that God himself came to us, came to live among us and pitched his tent with us (that's what John 1:14 means, Jesus "tabernacled" with us).  And he came as light, he came to give life, he came to make it possible for us to become the children of God--and all of this is rooted in John 1:1-18, our focus passage for the Advent season:

"The Word Became Flesh"

Advent 2020 Sermon Series

  • Dec. 13 - "The Word of Life" (John 1:1-13)
  • Dec. 20 - "The Word Came into the World" (John 1:14-18)
  • Dec. 24 - "Come to Jesus" (John 1:1-18) (Christmas Eve meditation)
