Friends:  Let’s all go to the Lord in daily prayer as we begin the new year, and let’s build our prayers around God’s amazing promises. Click HERE for a list of promises (or see below), one for each day of January.

Make it your priority to read and meditate on the Bible promise indicated, and then PRAY in response in three ways:

  1. For yourself, that your heart would truly rest and take joy in what God is saying.
  2. For another Christian, that they’d be at peace and find their hope in God’s Word.
  3. For someone who’s not a believer, that they’d be drawn into the worship of Christ, let go of all false securities, and rest in the promises of the Lord.

Especially this year, amidst of all the world’s uncertainties, we need to stand on the foundation of God’s rock-solid promises!

31 PROMISES:

  1. Isaiah 9:6-7:  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
  2. Matthew 11:28-30:  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
  3. 1 Corinthians 10:13:  No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
  4. Hebrews 13:5:  Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
  5. Matthew 16:18:  And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
  6. Isaiah 41:10:  Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
  7. John 14:3:  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
  8. Matthew 7:7:  Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
  9. John 10:27-28:  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
  10. Romans 8:32:  He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
  11. James 4:7-8:  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
  12. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18:  For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore, encourage one another with these words.
  13. James 4:10:  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
  14. Philippians 1:6:  And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
  15. 1 John 1:9:  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  16. Genesis 3:15:  I will put enmity between you [i.e., the serpent] and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.
  17. John 14:15-17:  If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
  18. John 11:25-26:  Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
  19. Philippians 4:6-7:  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  20. Lamentations 3:31-33:  For the Lord will not cast off forever, but, though he cause grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love; for he does not afflict from his heart or grieve the children of men.
