At Goshen we long to let our roots go down deep into the Lord Jesus so that we might walk in a manner worthy or his Name. Discipleship takes place in various formats and venues.

Sunday Morning Classes

The study of God's Word is right at the heart of our life at Goshen.  But not just study--we're also eager to apply what the Bible teaches.  And we look forward to helping each other in this venture--reading, questioning, learning, growing in community.

Typically we offer six adult classes with topics ranging from parenting to New Testament letters to Old Testament character studies.   Come join us at 9:30 a.m. as we turn to God's Word and enter into conversation together!  Click for class information.

Discipleship Groups

Men’s discipleship groups are a priority at Goshen.  There are multiple groups of men meeting in small settings for the purpose of establishing and strengthening each other in the faith.  If interested, contact Pastor Peter at Peter@goshenbaptist.org.

Women’s and men’s Bible studies are also offered throughout the week.  These groups are more than study of the bible - they are groups of support, challenge and spiritual comfort for the men and women involved.  Please click to download a brochure of  our current women's bible studies.   For info about the current men's study, click here.

Small Groups

It is our hope that our small groups will be places where biblical understanding can be applied for spiritual growth in the context of loving relationships.  OK - that's a dense sentence!  Let's break it down. Biblical understanding - God's Word at the center. Spiritual growth - shaping our hearts and lives. Loving relationships - while surrounded by supportive Christ followers interested in sharing life together. That's a lofty goal.  But God's Spirit goes before, and we humbly and hopefully follow.  Join with us!!!  For more information about Small Groups, click here.

Discovery Class

We offer a four-session series in the spring and fall for those who'd like to learn more about Goshen and are considering church membership.  Keep an eye on our Current Events page and the weekly bulletin for upcoming dates.  Or, as an alternative, you are welcome to complete the course by viewing/downloading the material--click here.

Bible Reading Plans

Here are several recommended plans for reading God's Word. Some are quite fast-paced, others slower. Choose one and give it a try. Many people find that if they do a task daily for a month it becomes a stable habit. So be diligent for the first several weeks and you will find that it gets more and more natural to be in Scripture seeking the Lord each day. And a word of friendly warning: if you don't plan to read the Bible, you are actually planning not to read the Bible.

Bible Memory

On a periodic basis we present Bible memory challenges for your spiritual enrichment.  When we commit Scripture to memory, we store up God's truth to help us grow in faith and stand strong against temptation:  "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you" (Psalm 119:11).

"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith."  Colossians 2: 6
