Dear Goshen Family and Friends,

In less than a week, on October 15, our team of 25 will be on our way to Israel.  We have been planning for this “Journey to Israel” for over a year and a half and now it is almost here. What an exciting time this will be--to walk where Jesus walked!

We are planning to post some updates on the church blog every few days that will give you a glimpse into our travels as we visit Nazareth, Cana, and Capernaum; as we take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee; as we explore Jerusalem; as we pray in the Garden of Gethsemane and have communion at the Garden Tomb; and as we see Masada and the turquoise waters of the Dead Sea.

We so appreciate your prayers for us.  Please pray for health and safety and especially that God will do a mighty work in our hearts and lives while we are there.

Blessings,

Jim Flye, and Terry & Dee Stick

"Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures."  (Luke 24:45)

UPDATE:  The Israel Team will share their photos and stories from the trip on Sunday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m. at Goshen Baptist Church.  Come join us!!

Not About Deserving

Not About Deserving
Being a Christian is not about what we deserve.  If it were, it would be terrifying.  The Bible and experience teach us that we’ve all shaken our fists at the Lord in stubborn rebellion (e.g., 1 ...

Upward I Look

Upward I Look
In 1863, Charitie Bancroft wrote the hymn, “Before the Throne of God Above.”  I love the way this song conveys assurance to the downcast believer—especially the call to “look up”: When Satan ...
